Ashton Jeanty joins athlete-OS startup Nukleus as investor
The Raiders running back invested in Nukleus and became its public face ahead of launch. The platform is building a career operating system for athletes — one shared workspace for the agents, attorneys, accountants, and marketers around a player, replacing the usual sprawl of email and PDFs. Founder Hector Rivas ran a sports agency prior to starting Nukleus.
Andrew Bogut invests in athlete-intelligence platform Athoz and leads its Australia push
Bogut backed Athoz and joined as its regional partner in Australia, where it’s secured deals across the NRL, NBL, and AFL. The product turns player metrics into roster and readiness calls for coaching staff. The rollout follows Athoz’s acquisition of Optimum Scouting.

Jaylen Brown previews the first shoe from his self-funded brand, 741
Brown gave a first look at a new model from 741, the brand he launched in September 2024 after turning down more than $50M in endorsement offers to keep full ownership and creative control. It’s the first player-owned sneaker brand launched during an active career — Brown cites Kobe’s unrealized Mamba Brand as the reference point, and frames the whole thing around athletes capturing the value they create.
Jameis Winston launches two shows with Playmaker
Winston is producing a travelogue and a talk show with Playmaker, the Better Collective-owned sports media company, through his own production company. It extends a parallel media career he’s built over two years — Fox Sports digital correspondent at Super Bowl LIX, a Netflix MLB booth on opening day, and Fox World Cup correspondent this summer.
James Harden brings Smiling Moose to Scottsdale
Harden is part of the local ownership group opening the Colorado-born sandwich chain’s first Arizona location, alongside fellow ASU alums. Founded in 2003, Smiling Moose is built around The Original Mo, a hot sandwich on a fresh-baked baguette.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Jeff Bezos launch the $200M Phoenix Species Project
DiCaprio’s Re:wild and the Bezos Earth Fund committed $200M to recover 100 critically endangered species across 30 countries — the largest single philanthropic initiative dedicated to species recovery. The design goal is structural: move conservation off short-term grant cycles onto sustained multi-year funding.
Christian Bale nears completion on a $22M foster care village
Bale is approaching the finish on Together California’s Village for Brothers and Sisters, a $22M development in Palmdale built to keep siblings in foster care under one roof — 12 townhomes, two studios for young adults aging out, and a 7,000-square-foot community center. He co-founded the charity with his wife Sibi and UCLA’s Dr. Eric Esrailian, bought the land in 2022, and broke ground in 2024.

Unrivaled raises Series C at a $650M valuation
The 3-on-3 women’s league co-founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart closed an oversubscribed Series C of more than $100M, nearly doubling the $340M valuation it hit last September. The player equity pool is now reportedly worth close to $200 million — roughly 30% of the league’s total valuation — with at least 95% of players holding a stake. Ten Pillars Sports Fund, backed by the University of California’s investment arm, led the round, with reinvestment from Carmelo Anthony, Ashton Kutcher, Alex Morgan, and Trae Young.
NORTH Performance launches with 30 athletes as equity co-owners
The supplement brand debuted globally with 30 action-sports athletes on its founding roster as equity co-owners, with a combined audience north of 100 million. The roster spans surf, snow, mountain bike, and motocross names like Danny MacAskill, Torah Bright, and Julia Mancuso.
